Merline M. Barrett

Merline M. Barrett has a significant amount of experience in international finance and real estate acquisition and development. She has been involved in almost all the major multi-million dollar financing and real estate development transactions that have taken place in Anguilla in the last 15 years.

As Chambers and Partners notes, Merline has guided several clients through high-value financings, acquisitions and developments. Her expertise in real estate matters is unparalleled, and her ability to quickly identify and dissect complex issues and to propose meaningful solutions to problems have made her the “go to” person on all matters relating to real estate development, project finance and labour relations.

In May 2015, she also became one of a handful of persons in Anguilla to be trained in the field of captive insurance when she received her Associate in Captives designation. Merline is also a court certified Mediator. Outside the practice of law she is a Board member of the Eleos Centre, a family support ministry organized by the Methodist Church and an avid tennis player.
